The Path I have traveled
My first time I became a teacher was actually while I was in the 3rd grade. I was very interested in geography
and my teacher, Mrs. Downing, let me teach a map finding exercise once a week for about month.
It wasn't until high school that I would return to teaching. During my junior and senior year, I volunteered
to teach Sunday school at my church. Also during my senior year, I returned to my 8th grade math teachers classroom and became
a co-op student. There I began to learn what it was really like to create a lesson plan, teach using the technology given
to the teachers, and answer students questions.
After one year of college completed, I began to work as a camp counselor at a Salvation Army Day Camp. This job is helping me continue
to work with kids and teach during the summer while I continue my education at Marquette University.
